Patient Comfort

Dental anxiety is real. We take your comfort seriously and design every visit around it — calm technique, gentle care, judgment-free.

Calm by design

Dr. Youn is known for a calm demeanor and attention to detail. Each step of a visit is explained before it happens. You’re in control — if you need a break, you take a break. No surprises, no pressure.

Bring it up

If you have a hard time at the dentist, please tell us when you book. We’ll schedule extra time, talk through what to expect, and find a pace that works for you. Many of our patients say their first visit was easier than they expected.

No judgment

If it’s been years since your last visit — that’s okay. The first conversation is just about catching up and making a plan. Nothing has to happen the same day.

Frequently Asked

Common questions

What sedation options do you offer?
We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety and oral sedation (a prescription pill taken before your appointment) for more significant anxiety or longer procedures. Both are safe, well-studied, and used routinely. Dr. Youn will discuss which is right for you at your visit.
I am very afraid of the dentist — can you help?
Yes — we hear this from new patients regularly, and we take it seriously. We start with a no-treatment getting-to-know-you visit, narrate every step before it happens, give you full control to pause anytime, and offer sedation when it helps. Many patients who avoided dentists for years tell us they finally found a place they can keep coming back to.
Is laughing gas safe?
Yes — nitrous oxide is one of the safest and most predictable sedation methods in dentistry. The effect lifts within minutes once we stop the gas, and you can drive yourself home and return to normal activities right after the visit.
Do I need to do anything special for oral sedation?
Yes — you will take the medication about an hour before your appointment, and you must have someone drive you to and from the office. You will be relaxed and may not remember the visit clearly afterward, which most anxious patients find to be a feature, not a bug.
Will sedation be covered by insurance?
Nitrous oxide is often included in your visit fee or covered by some plans. Oral sedation is sometimes covered for longer or more invasive procedures. We will confirm coverage in writing before your visit.
